Everyday Life

December  2013

In the collection I worked in partnership with the designer Livia Marttins, whom designed all the beautifull patterns of the collection.

Callas

Callas was a personal project that became my own brand. In my studio in Ipanema, Rio de Janeiro, I worked to built collections that would turn into comfortable, soulful, handmade and timeless garments.

Since then I believe in a fashion that can be soulful, that the consumer know how it's made, by whom and in which conditions.

I mainly worked with natural fibers, once it leads the body to breath, once I was seeling in Rio de Janeiro tropical climate full year. With the surpervision of my grandmother, a self-educated tailor, I created piece by piece, prototype and modified each garment in my collections. She taught me how to save fabric on the hidden details of clothing, or even better to hide the sewings, so the consumer will never know how that piece was made.

As I've learned so much about managing and industrialisation process, when I was at Animale, I took care of my finances with the help of my sister, a bright production engineer.

In the end, the two steps that I didn't participate directly were: the industrialisation process and ironing it. Both of them were outsourced by two women that I know since I was a child.

All that is a result of what I beleive for the future fashion, that summarizing in a few concepts would be: co-working, social and environment responsabilities, passion and cultural identity.
